The HyAcademy network was presented during the Open Day at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCTP), showcasing how European universities are working together to strengthen education and skills development in hydrogen technologies.
UCTP offers a specialised programme in Membrane and Hydrogen Technologies, and its participation forms part of the wider HyAcademy network, which brings together universities, training providers, and education stakeholders to share expertise, teaching resources, and best practices in hydrogen education across Europe. The Open Day provided an opportunity to engage with prospective students, educators, and visitors, highlighting the growing role of hydrogen in the energy transition and the importance of building a skilled future workforce.
To bring hydrogen technology to life, a portable PEM fuel cell power source was demonstrated on site, allowing visitors to charge their mobile phones using electricity generated from hydrogen. This hands-on demonstration helped make the technology tangible and sparked discussions about real-world applications of hydrogen, career pathways in the hydrogen sector, and the role of universities in supporting Europe’s clean energy ambitions.
