HyAcademy is pleased to announce its participation in the 2025 Workshop: Progress in Solid Oxide Cell Systems (SOC Systems), taking place on 08–09 May 2025 at DLR Stuttgart, Germany.
This renowned workshop, formerly known as the Fuel Cell Systems Workshop and long hosted in Bruges, has a new home and organizer—but continues its mission to tackle the real-world challenges of Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) technologies. The 2025 edition will bring together experts in system engineering, reactor operation, control strategies, and SOC system design for two days of intense discussion and exchange.
A special highlight will be a presentation by Prof. Robert Steinberger-Wilckens, leader of HyAcademy, titled: "How Can We Use the Earth's Atmosphere as Storage for Renewable Energy?"
This forward-thinking talk will explore unconventional approaches to storing renewable energy, drawing connections between atmospheric chemistry and solid oxide technologies. Steinberger-Wilckens’ insights are expected to spark interdisciplinary dialogue and push the boundaries of how we envision the integration of SOCs into future energy systems.
With topics ranging from degradation management to integration with upstream and downstream processes, this workshop offers a critical platform for moving SOC technologies from concept to commercial application.
