The International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) is an intergovernmental partnership established in 2003. It brings together 28 countries and the European Commission to support the development and deployment of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Its work promotes international cooperation, knowledge exchange and policies that support cleaner, more efficient energy and transport systems.
IPHE’s working groups and task forces address regulations, codes, standards and safety, alongside education, workforce skills and environmental impact assessment. Their activities also cover hydrogen certification, international trade, permitting, bulk storage and maritime applications. Members share experience, identify gaps and develop reports to help address common challenges facing the hydrogen sector.
The IPHE website provides access to publications, databases, national hydrogen strategies, country reports and webinars. These resources offer policymakers, researchers, educators and industry professionals information on hydrogen developments and the policy, regulatory and skills requirements supporting its wider adoption.
