Coloring book - decarbonising our future

Welcome to Decarbonising Our Future with Ely, a colouring book that takes young readers on an exciting journey into the world of climate protection, innovation, and clean energy. Together with Ely the electrolyser, and her friends Chiara and Marta, this book explores how smart ideas and teamwork can help protect our planet and create a more sustainable future.

Through fun illustrations and interactive activities, children will discover what carbon dioxide (CO₂) is, why too much of it is harmful to the Earth, and how climate change affects our everyday lives. Step by step, the story introduces renewable energy, green hydrogen, and how these technologies can replace fossil fuels in energy-intensive industries such as glass production. Complex topics are explained in a simple, playful way, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and learning through colouring, drawing, and imagination.

This book is inspired by the European research project H2GLASS and shows how scientists, engineers, and companies across Europe work together to reduce emissions and build cleaner industrial processes. Most importantly, it reminds us that everyone, including young readers, can be part of the journey towards a greener, more sustainable future.

So grab your colours, join Ely on her adventure, and help decarbonise our future!
