Sustainable Hydrogen: The Fuel of Tomorrow

This presentation is aimed at secondary school students with no prior knowledge of hydrogen.

This resource was developed as part of the HyAcademy.eu project.

This resource was developed to introduce readers to the fundamental concepts of hydrogen energy and its role in the transition toward a more sustainable future. Through clear explanations, engaging visuals, and practical examples, the resource explores what hydrogen is, how it is produced, and why it is considered a key component of future energy systems.

The material is organised into sections that guide readers through the basics of hydrogen, the environmental challenges linked to current energy use, and the different methods of hydrogen production, including green hydrogen generated using renewable energy. It also examines important applications of hydrogen technologies, such as fuel cells, sustainable transport, aviation, and industrial energy use, helping readers understand how hydrogen can be integrated into everyday life and global energy systems.

By combining scientific knowledge with sustainability awareness, this resource aims to make complex energy topics accessible and engaging for a broad audience. Developed as part of the HyAcademy.eu project, it encourages learners to explore innovative solutions for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
