IEA – Global Hydrogen Review 2025

The Global Hydrogen Review 2025 by IEA tracks how hydrogen demand, production and policy are evolving across the globe. It confirms that total hydrogen demand is close to 100 Mt and that low‑emission hydrogen deployment is growing, albeit more slowly than initially expected, with more than 200 low‑emission projects reaching FID since 2020. The report frames today’s key challenges as deployment speed, demand creation and risk reduction, rather than basic technology readiness – underlining how crucial skilled people and sound project design have become.

HyAcademy.eu uses this review to ensure that its learning offers are grounded in the latest global data, policy insights and realistic deployment pathways for hydrogen and its derivatives.
