HyAcademy Publishes First Annual Report

HyAcademy.eu has released its first Annual Report, highlighting impressive progress in its mission to advance hydrogen education across Europe. In just one year, the project has connected with over 150 universities and 75 schools, developed plans for 12 open-access textbooks, launched an interactive online education platform, and laid the foundation for the Net-Zero Hydrogen Academy, which aims to train 100,000 professionals by 2028.

Highlights from the First Year

Establishing European Hydrogen Education Networks
●    The “Network 100+” is in full development, with over 150 universities expressing interest in offering hydrogen-focused modules, degrees, and micro-credentials.

●    The “Network 500+” of European schools has begun taking shape, with 75 schools already participating and contributing to early-stage hydrogen curriculum development.

New Teaching Resources and Open Access Textbooks
●    A scientific committee has been formed to lead the creation of a suite of 12 open-access university textbooks, covering essential topics such as fuel cell technology, electrolysis, hydrogen infrastructure, and safety.

●    Textbooks will serve as the foundation for new courses and will be made freely available to the public from 2026 onward.

Net-Zero Hydrogen Academy (NZ HyAcademy)
●    Preparations are underway for launching the Net-Zero Hydrogen Academy — a European-wide Vocational Education and Training (VET) platform targeting 100,000 trainees by 2028.

●    Learning modules will be delivered at five levels of proficiency, supported by a micro-credential framework and interactive gamified content.

Digital Platform and Public Engagement

●    The HyAcademy.eu website now hosts:

    ○    A growing database of hydrogen-related university programmes.

    ○    School and teacher resources.

    ○    News and event updates.

    ○    A searchable resource hub for all project deliverables.

●    A LinkedIn communication campaign has been launched to build awareness and grow our community.
