Goce Delčev University, Štip, Announces Lecture on ‘21st Century – Century of the Hydrogen Economy’

Goce Delčev University (UGD) in Štip is scheduled to host a lecture delivered by the distinguished academic, Prof. D.Eng. Daria Vladikova from Bulgaria. The presentation, titled "21st Century – Century of the Hydrogen Economy", focuses on the critical role of hydrogen technologies in sustainable development and the necessary expansion of technical expertise.

The lecture is scheduled for Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 14:00 (2:00 PM).

The location is the Faculty of Computer Science, situated on Campus 2 of the Goce Delčev University.

 Context and Scope

Hydrogen technologies are identified as a key factor in implementing the European Green Deal and are foundational to the "economy of the 21st century." Projections indicate a substantial skills gap in the sector, with the European Union requiring an estimated 180,000 qualified personnel by 2030 to meet demand.

This session is being held in connection with the European Hydrogen Academy, an initiative launched to establish educational networks and develop essential learning materials to address the deficit.

Prof. Vladikova's lecture will provide a general introduction to the field, covering the application and scope of hydrogen technologies, their role in carbon reduction, and the rationale for their integration into education from primary levels onward.

 Participants

·       Students and mentors from several secondary schools in North Macedonia.

·       Students from the Faculty of Computer Science at UGD.

·       Students from all other technical faculties at Goce Delčev University.
